Professor Anthony Weiss is part of a team of biomedical engineers from the University of Sydney and the United States that has developed a futuristic surgical glue, called MeTro. The natural liquid can seal internal and external wounds within 60 seconds and is set to replace staples and sutures in life-threatening situations.
As clinical trials begin, Professor Weiss believes the breakthrough is another feather in the cap for the Australian medical industry.
