Melbourne Lord Mayor Nicholas Reece launched a motion to immediately cancel contracts with e-scooter companies Lime and Neuron, wherein the City of Melbourne will be banning such e-scooters.

This proved to be a dramatic overturn after the Victorian government declared that e-scooters were ‘here to stay’ just weeks prior.

On this note, private e-scooters are still allowed in the City of Melbourne.
