Public perception of corruption has been rising steadily for the past 5 years, according to Transparency International.
A report further by Transparency International has listed “inappropriate industry lobbying in large-scale projects such as mining”and “revolving doors and a culture of mateship”, as two of the key reasons for Australia’s increase in perceived corruption.
Adam Lucas, senior lecture at the University of Woolongong, has found 180 people in senior positions of government who have moved to or from the fossil fuel industry.
