Marrying for welfare, Sydney students tie the knot

Imagine getting married for the sole purpose of receiving a government benefit. Unfortunately this measure is being taken by students whose situations do not fill Centrelink’s criteria for income support. Today students from two Sydney universities gathered to protest against inaccessible and equitable student income support. The students gathered to argue for better student benefits by throwing a mock wedding, where students exchanged phony vows.
