Despite a recent drop in divorce rates and a ‘renaissance’ in marriage, relationships are still tested on a daily basis. Financial, emotional and physical obstacles can take a toll on romance and, sometimes, couples need reminding of why they married in the first place. Christian groups around Australia are encouraging couples to take part in Marriage Week on the second Sunday in September. The annual Marriage Week aims to celebrate and honour marriage and its benefits. The Wire’s Hannah Chipperfield asked Dennis Outred from Marriage Week Australia why he feels it is necessary to have a national Marriage Week.
