Suicide rates amongst members of the US military have reached levels not seen in 26 years. Last year there were 99 suicides, with most not even reaching their 25th birthday. One third had served in Iraq or Afghanistan. While many people around the war remain opposed to the War in Iraq, few people speak out about their person experiences of serving in the conflict. One person who has decided to is Matt Howard, a US Marine who was in the first invasion force that swept in to Baghdad in 2003. He did two tours of duty in Iraq and now’s taking part in a speaking tour of Australia to tell people what that war is like first hand.
