Arkaroola is a pristine wilderness site in the north of South Australia’s Flinders Ranges. There’s uranium under all that pristine wilderness though, and exploration company Marathon Resources have had their eye on it for sometime. They lost their right to explore after breaching the conditions and leaving uranium waste lying in creek beds a couple of years ago. Now the South Australian government has restored that right. Marg Sprigg and her brother are the leaseholders of Arkaroola and they’ve been waging a campaign against the mining plans for several years.
