Hedley Marston was one of Australia’s first whistleblowers. He was a CSIRO scientist seconded by the British in the fifties to measure the health effects of fallout from their bomb tests. Marston was a maverick soul and he decided to test far more widely than the brief he was given. After alarming results on animals after the Monte Bello explosion he moved his attention to the test at Maralinga in the north of South Australia. Annie Hastwell spoke to documentary maker Peter Butt.
