Storytelling has always been an important part of Aboriginal culture. But having a wide listening audience is paramount to the protection of Aboriginal identity. That’s why Margaret Somerville and Gumbaynggirr cultural knowledge holder, Tony Perkins, have come together to create the book ‘Singing the Coast’. I talked to Margaret about how she felt as a non-Indigenous person, hearing stories of Aboriginal and settler conflict.
