How do you put a price on wrongful imprisonment?

Behrouz Boochani, Kurdish journalist, author, and Manus Island detainee, wants justice for those who have been kept on Manus Island. His lawyers filed an application for the assessment of the damages that detainment has caused, amid another court action to give Manus Island detainees travel papers so they can finally leave the island.

Estimates put the damages to cost the PNG government at least $130 million, with a high likelihood of Australian taxpayers paying the bill.
