Malcolm Turnbull has challenged the leadership of Prime Minister Tony Abbott and this time he has the public backing of Deputy Liberal Leader Julie Bishop. Tony Abbott says the ballot will be conducted later tonight. Malcolm Turnbull says the PM has not been capable of providing the economic leadership the nation needs or the economic confidence that business needs. He says the party needs advocacy not slogans and a more consultative form of government and without a change of leadership the Coalition will lose the next election.
