Military lawyer for David Hicks Major Michael Mori has become something of a cult figure over the past week, touring Australia, appearing on chat shows, and yesterday speaking to an enthusiastic 1200 strong crowd in Adelaide. The occasion was a candle light vigil and the presenting of a 50,000 name petition to Foreign Minister Alexander Downer’s office, calling for Hicks to be brought home. It was organised by support group GetUp and the group’s Brett Solomon is upbeat about the chances of a change in public opinion on the Hicks issue.
