Refugee advocacy group A Just Australia has released an election report card, marking the major and minor parties against 10 aspects of asylum seeker policy. The Coalition, which will retain the Pacific solution and the processing of asylum seekers off shore, scored badly. In comparison, Labor has promised to roll back some of the Coalition policy, vowing to scrap the Pacific solution, and permanently close detention centres on Manus Island and Nauru. But Labor will retain some aspects of Coalition policy, so it scores slightly less than the Greens and Democrats, which both scored 10 out of 10 on A Just Australia’s score card.
