Following accusations of safety breaches…Australia’s only nuclear reactor is now to be the subject of an investigation, announced today by Science Minister Kim Carr. The issue began with a former employee turned whistleblower. The government’s workplace safety regulator, Comcare then investigated and also reported safety issues. The subject of the investigation, the The Australian Nuclear Science and Technology Organisation or ANSTO, has continued to deny that safety is an issue.
