As Australia rockets along to become one of the most vaccinated countries in the world, COVID-19 vaccine coverage in Low Income Countries remains in the doldrums. In the latest figures on global immunisation efforts from our world in data, only 3% of people living in low income countries have received a COVID-19 vaccination.

It’s a development that hasn’t been alleviated by COVID-19 vaccine production increasing to over 1.5 billion doses a month, and supply problems being slowly addressed.

Evan Wallace spoke with Sarah Schiffling – a Senior Lecturer in Supply Chain Management from John Moores University in Liverpool to explore the greatest barriers to rolling out the COVID-19 Vaccine in low income countries.
