The Asia Pacific Economic Co-operation meeting has opened in Hanoi, Vietnam, and Prime Minister John Howard says he will use the forum to speak about moving on from the Kyoto Protocol. Mr Howard’s long running position is that he thinks the Kyoto Protocol is invalid because it doesn’t include developing nations like China or India, and he suggests we should be looking at an alternative agreement. Professor Chris Cocklin, Head of the Geography and Environmental Science school at Monash University joined us on the lien to discuss the issue.
