Developing liver cancer is a particularly dark prognosis for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people living in the Northern Territory. Research published by the Medical Journal of Australia today reveals indigenous Australians are six times more likely to suffer and die from liver cancer than non-indigenous Australians.

The team of eight researchers suggests the best ways to improve outcomes are early detection and a centralized treatment service.
