Agriculture Minister Barnaby Joyce has given the tick of approval to a live cattle export deal up to worth $2 billion a year. Australia will have to double the amount of cattle it currently exports increasing by a figure of at least one million cattle per head. This comes just a week after Indonesia cut the number of cattle it imports from Australia by 80%. The agreement will try to expand domestic producers into a wider range of markets, but has left many worried about their job security here in Australia.
