Lex Wotton was convicted for his involvement in the Palm island riots after the death of Mulrunji Doomadgee in 2004. He received a six year sentence, serving two years before returning to Palm Island last year – with hefty court imposed parole restrictions for the remaining of his sentence. Now Lex Wotton’s legal team will go before the High Court in August, hoping to challenge the constitutional validity of these parole terms.
