Less talk, more action needed on Indigenous child welfare

Indigenous disadvantage is topping the agenda on the first day of a conference on children’s welfare in Sydney today. It comes as the Northern Territory Child Protection Inquiry report nears its due date at the end of this month. There are calls for more government consultation with Indigenous communities on child welfare measures. But some groups say governments know what they need to do, they just aren’t doing it.
