When convicted drug user Michelle Leslie returned to Australia this week, she faced one of the biggest media scrums seen at the Sydney airport. There has been a lot of talk about Leslie selling her story, but she has been advised both by the prime minister and the foreign minister, and a former supreme court judge to keep silent, and now the media organisations are competing to show their disinterest. Media commentator at The Australian, Mark Day, said he thinks Leslie has become unpopular due to her religious conviction.
