Latest climate talks still stuck on blame issues
The Climate change summit in Copenhagen last December was a huge event but produced little in the way of outcomes – partly because of the bickering between the so-called rich and poor countries about who was to blame for rising CO2 emissions levels. Currently in Bonn in Germany a second round of climate talks are being held. These talks are less public but are the venue for much important behind-the-scenes deal making . Tony Kevin is a former diplomat and author of Crunch Time – a book about politics and climate change. He’s been watching what’s happening in Bonn closely – he says the same rifts between countries are holding up the progress of the talks.
