LAPD looks inside
When you talk about the Los Angeles Police Department, many people can’t help but recall the shocking video of Rodney King being beaten by four Officers on the side of an LA road, the event that led to the huge LA riots of 91. Since then the LAPD has been trying to clean up its image and has been looking at how the force works internally aswell. As the Ombuds Officer at the LAPD, Captain Richard Bonneau is responsible for dealing with conflict that arises within the force. Today he delivered the Keynote address at an International Workplace Conflict Conference taking place in Adelaide and in the audience was a big contingent from Australia’s military, an organization whose internal justice system is under he spotlight. Jay Lamey spoke to Captain Bonneau, who said dealing properly with internal problems leads to better policing on the street.
