Language preservation critical for culture in First Nations communities

According to experts, only a fragment of 250 traditional First Nations languages from pre-colonial Australia are spoken in homes today, showing the priority to preserve both First Nations language and storytelling.

Dr Debra Dank wrote ‘ We Come With This Place’ as part of her PhD thesis and explores how maintaining traditional storytelling is important for First Nations histories, experiences and identities.
