With increasing talk of a looming global food crisis, sharp eyed investors have been buying up large tracts of agricultural land all over the world. A report released by Oxfam today has found that those land grabs are leaving poor families in poor countries homeless.

The ‘Land and Power’ report released by Oxfam today has exposed the increase in international “land grabs” in recent years. Over the past ten years, 227 million hectares of land in the developing world has been sold or leased to foreign goverments and corporations. This has left many poor families in many poor countries homeless.
