If you watch the ABC to get your fix of Television drama, you might find it hard to believe it’s an Australian network. Last year, the ABC screened just 17 hours of locally produced drama, down almost 100 hours, ten years earlier. The Screen producers Association of Australia is calling on the federal government to live up to it’s election promise of funding 90 hours of Australian produced drama. The SPAA claim an increase in funding would create jobs and boost the economy.
