Big puppets made out of grass and wool aren’t what you usually associate with ‘Aboriginal art’. But these are the features of an exhibition currently running at the JamFactory in Adelaide.

Over two years and several workshops the “Tjanpi Desert Weavers” created a big range of human and animal sculptures. Together with the “Gold Coast City Art Gallery” they put the sculptures on display in an award winning touring exhibition called “Kuru Alala – Eyes Open”. It has travelled the country since 2009.The exhibition moves from Adelaide to Alice Springs tomorrow.
