The Korean war is considered one of the most dangerous international conflicts since WWII, and could easily have escalated into a nuclear war. On the 28th of July 1953 an armistice was signed, however many servicemen were there for the next three years. To recognise the services these veterans provided during that time, the Government has announced plans to create a medal acknowledging thier efforts. Veterans are very happy with the move, after two years of pursuing recognition.
