Prime Minister John Howard has voiced his support for a new history course to appear in our secondary school curriculum nationwide. This week, 23 historians met in Canberra to discuss the changes to Australia’s high school curriculum. Kirsten Maguire asked ANDREW BUXTON, the Executive officer of the History Teachers Association of South Australia why there should be a narrative bases course.
