Knock-back of proposed Islamic school – A “victory for racism”

There’s been an uproar from the NSW Muslim Community today, after the Camden Council snubbed a proposal for an Islamic School in Sydney’s west. Executive Director of the Forum on Australia’s Islamic Relations, Kuranda Seyit, says the decision reflects the fear and ignorance of Islam in the area. But Camdon Mayor Chris Patterson strongly denies the knock-back had anything to do with the escalating racial tensions in the area.
