The Federal Government has released its plan for the next decade of tourism for the Kakadu National Park. The scheme provides a framework under which private investment could develop and expand visitor infrastructure and business opportunities, in an attempt to tap into the new tourist market of the “experience seeker.” But conservationists have raised concerns about overdevelopment in Kakadu, and have questioned the extent to which eco-tourism can or should coexist with National Parks.
