Foreign Minister Julie Bishop has become the first representative of the Australian Government to visit East Timor in 5 years.

Ms Bishop has said that she is taking the opportunity to meet with the newly elected Government.

However, her visit comes at a tense time; with Whistleblower Witness K & his lawyer Bernard Collaery being prosecuted for exposing Australian Government spying & the finer details of the lucrative Greater Sunrise Agreement over deep sea oil yet to be finalised.
