Japan will reintroduce whaling next month after a 30 year halt.

Whaling was banned by the International Whaling Commission in 1982, but on June 30, Japan will leave the Commission and resume commercial whaling the following day on July 1st.

Experts warn the reintroduction of large scale whaling may not only have damning effects on the environment and marine life, but may set in motion further breakdowns of international governance.
