Sixty four years ago today, an atomic bomb was dropped on the Japanese city of Hiroshima and days later in Nagasaki during the second World War. Hundreds of thousands of people were killed and almost overnight an era of nuclear power was born. The anniversary of this event is a time not only to look back on the events of the past, but also to question the never-ending debate over our nuclear future.
