Israeli Assasination Policy
Another official of Palestinian military group Hamas was killed in Damascus, Syria yesterday. Izz El-Dine Khalil, the Hamas spokesperson in Syria, was blown up in his car after starting the engine. Israeli security forces in Jerusalem took responsibility for the killing, although Israeli officals said the details were not known to them. This assasination is another recent example of Israel’s resolve to continue the Israeli-Palestinian conflict outside national borders. Sarah Dingle spoke to Steven Freeland, Senior Lecturer in Intenational Law a tthe University of Western Sydney about the implications this extension of the conflict will have in international relations and the ‘war on terror’.
