A video conferencing program developed by the University of Wollongong is promising to revolutionise the way we communicate at school, work and home. The program, called iSee, streams multiple webcams in a virtual world to simulate the visual and aural experience of a real life social situation. Users create a mevatar, like an avatar in online gaming, to move around, chat and share content. iSee has already been used in a world-first educational experiment, so what’s next for the technology hailed as the most collaborative way to communicate online?
