Is media to blame for confusion surrounding climate change?

Climate change is the “hot topic” in media, but there’s still some confusion in the general public about the issue. With the Federal Government’s commitment to climate change winning them support in the last election, critics say the media should be doing more to clarify the issues. They say that media coverage is giving disproportional air time to climate change skeptics and therefore confusing the public instead of informing them. The Wire’s Anne von Fehrn spoke to Dr Karey Harrison, a lecturer for Communications and Environmental Studies at the University of Southern Queensland.
