Earlier this week the Federal Court ruled in favour of Voltage Pictures the makers of Dallas Buyers Club, who want Australian internet providers to hand over the details of those who illegally downloaded the film. With those details the company could now demand up to $9,000 in damages from customers who downloaded the movie. The likelihood of this is slim but it could affect the anonymous downloading of copyrighted material.
