This week Oxfam launched their Fairtrade Fortnight to spotlight the benefits for developing countries through the sales of Fairtrade coffee and other products under the label. The scheme is designed to improve conditions for producers in the third world and reduce poverty. The Fairtrade market has been boosted recently with major stores such as Coles selling the products and it seems the community are keen to support their efforts. But not everyone is convinced about the benefits of the system.
