In 2009, Brodie Donegan was hit by a driver alleged to be under the influence of drugs, killing her unborn child of eight months. At the time, the driver couldn’t be charged with the death of the foetus, but a new bill being debated in the New South Wales parliament could give courts the power to do just that- and women’s rights organisations are furious.
