Ireland goes to the polls tomorrow to vote on the legalisation of abortion, allowing women to terminate pregnancies.

Despite the countries strong religious roots, the historic referendum will be set to remove the the eighth amendment from the constitution.

The Wire spoke to Senior Lecturer Dr Kate Gleeson of Macquarie University and Founding Publisher of the The Irish Echo Billy Cantwell about the referendum.
