Foreign Minister Kevin Rudd, spoke today at the 5th World Conference on Conservation Agriculture in Brisbane, and said Australia is delivering effective aid by boosting agricultural productivity amongst our neighbours. An Iraqi farmer who appreciates that help was among the conference guests. Sinan Al Jalili says that in spite of rising prices and lack of security after eight years of Allied occupation,for farmers like himself it is climate change which is posing the greatest threat. He’s been working with Australian scientists to improve soil conservation methods and the locals are constructing their own machinery.
