Overnight, the UN deadline for Iran to stop its nuclear program, expired. Iranian president Marmood Armor-dinner-jad says Tehran will not be bullied with threats of sanctions. As for the UN, it remains divided. US president George Bush wants sanctions imposed immediately, but other key member countries are less keen on the idea. Doctor Andrew O’Neill is Flinders University’s senior lecturer in politics and international studies. He spoke to The Wire’s Andrew Green about the likely implications of Iran’s defiance.
