Iran remains defiant, following the weekend decision by the International Atomic Energy Agency to refer the country’s bourgeoning nuclear ambitions to the United Nations Security Council. While Iran’s moves to embark on a uranium enrichment program have sparked concern, equally, alarm has expressed by anti-nuclear campaigners, who say there seems to be a rush to escalate the situation into a major diplomatic crisis. This report begins with comments from Greenpeace International’s nuclear advisor, Felicity Hill, and also features Jackie Cabasso, executive director of the Western States Legal Foundation in California and the Director of the Australian National University’s Strategic and Defence Studies Centre, Robert Ayson.
