Interesting work for parents contributes to children’s wellbeing

The nature of work carried out by parents – has a long term impact on the quality of life enjoyed by their children. That’s according to Clinical psychologist, Dr Lyndall Strazdins, who’s presenting the findings of her longitudinal study of Australia’s children, at the Growing Up in Australia conference held in Melbourne this week. The first of its kind in Australia, Dr Strazdins’ research found children’s physical and mental health outcomes are greatly affected by how satisfied their parents are in their jobs.
