Voting has started in Indonesia’s presidential elections. It’s only the second time in history that voters have been able to directly elect their president, and early exit polls are indicating an easy win for Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, known as SBY. He’s been so popular that the election had looked like a one horse race… but Edward Aspinal, Senior Fellow specialising in Indonesian Politics at the Australian National University, says that it’s not just SBY’s clean image that will see him re-elected.
