Indigenous women march against domestic violence in Alice Springs

Yesterday, Aboriginal women from town camps around Alice Springs marched to raise awareness of domestic violence in their communities.

Prompted by frustrations with the lack of awareness of domestic violence in Indigenous communities, the march aimed to bring the issue into the Australian consciousnesses.

Hundreds of people from Alice Springs, and around Australia, joined the women in support of their calls to make their lives safe from domestic violence
