Rosie Fulton is a 24 year old indigenous woman from Western Australia. Nearly two years ago a magistrate found her unfit to stand trial, due to her mental impairment and placed her in a Kalgoorlie prison. She was there for 21 months. A petition started for her release collected over 120,000 signatures. She has now been sent to Alice Springs where she will receive the care and supports she needs. But how did a mentally ill woman end up in prison without a trial?
