Tohu wines is the only indigenous owned wine company in New Zealand and Maori culture is very much part of their marketing campaign. Managing Director James Wheeler is in Australia at the moment to launch a cheeky little sauvignon blanc called Kono, which means food basket. He says Toho has a great chance to tell the Maori story of the land while selling wine.
