Indigenous people one step closer to constitutional recognition

The Prime Minister Julia Gillard has announced a plan to incorporate Indigenous Australians into the constitution. Following through on a deal with the Greens after the election this year, the PM said she will set up an expert panel to guide a national debate. The panel will report back to the Government at the end of 2011, with plans on how best to proceed to a referendum.
